Charles Hylan’s role on the ABLE team is that of business development advisor. As a CPA and marketing expert, he ensures that ABLE exceeds its users’ expectations.

About Charles Hylan, CPA, MBA

When ABLE was established, Charles had already been working with our founder, Jeff Pawlow, for nearly 15 years at The Growth Partnership (TGP). In his capacity as a business development advisor to ABLE, Charles draws upon a vast wealth of experience, both as an accountant and a consultant to the accounting industry.

Prior to joining TGP, Charles dedicated 12 years to consulting with—and working in—accounting firms ranging from sole-practitioners to National and Big 5 firms. During this time, Charles spent more than eight years with Price Waterhouse and Arthur Andersen, where he began his career as an auditor. He eventually transitioned into a strategic planning and marketing role. Charles entered the accounting consulting industry in 1999 as a Vice President in the Consulting Services division of Waugh & Co. He joined TGP as a shareholder in 2001, consulting on marketing, strategic planning, partner compensation, partner buy-in/out, partner succession, and leadership development.

Charles earned his Bachelor of Art in Economics from the University of Texas – Austin and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston. Accounting Today has recognized him as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential People” in the accounting profession. He has written articles featured in various accounting publications and has spoken at many accounting firms, associations, industry meetings, and conferences. Charles is a trusted advisor to many—his passion is to help clients succeed as business owners.

Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Charles currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri with his wife, Kelly. Together they have two children.
